The Gosteli Archive has been funded by the federal government (SERI), the Canton of Bern, the Burgergemeinde Bern and Ittigen local council since 2021. We are also dependent on donations. With your donation, you are helping to preserve the history of women's movements in Switzerland and make it accessible in the long term. The Gosteli Archive is recognised as a charitable organisation and donations are tax-deductible.
Project donations
Learning materials
Together with the Lucerne University of Teacher Education, the Gosteli Archive is developing digital learning materials on the history of women's movements in Switzerland in three national languages. Would you like to help make women's history more visible in the classroom? We would be happy to send you the relevant documents if you are interested.
Building project
In order to store our archives properly in the future and to ensure the continued existence of the archive at its current location in the long term, we need to build a storage facility. Would you like to help finance the construction?
Please contact us if you would like to make a donation.
Sponsorships
We protect women and their history from being forgotten. You can help us do this by sponsoring one of these women. In doing so, you symbolically finance the preservation of your sponsored woman's collection for one year. Sponsorships are available from as little as 50 francs/year and are also suitable as a gift. After registering, you will receive a personalised gift certificate from us. Unless otherwise requested, your name and the person you are sponsoring will be mentioned on our website and in the annual report. Before the sponsorship expires, you will receive a non-binding renewal enquiry.

Bequests in a will
Did you know that you can include a charitable organisation such as the Gosteli Archives in your will alongside your loved ones? Would you like to use your money to help preserve the history of women in Switzerland and make it accessible for research, education and the public? We recommend that you seek advice when drawing up your will. Formal errors or ambiguities in content can otherwise lead to disputes after your death, meaning that your last wishes may not be realised. We will be happy to put you in touch with a specialised notary.
Memorial donations
If you would like to invite mourners to make a donation instead of buying wreaths and flowers, you can name the Gosteli Archive. When transferring a donation via payment slip or bank transfer, please indicate the first name and surname of the deceased as well as the reference "Memorial donation".
