"Eigentlich seit immer": a radio play (in German)

Three Swiss women over eighty who love women tell their unconventional life stories: Christine fell in love with the midwife during the birth of her daughter. Margrit already knew in kindergarten that she liked women. Ruth was happily married but only experienced true love after her retirement. The women remember their love lives and the social resistance they encountered. Put on the headphones and hear what they have to tell!

From the Bundesplatz to the Gosteli Archive

Swiss women started to fight for civil and political equality in the 19th century. But it was not until 1971 that national women's suffrage was adopted in Switzerland. 50 years later, HOMMAGE-OMAGGIO-OMAGI 2021 innundated the buildings around the Bundesplatz in images and sounds to tell this story. Many of the 350 original images used in the installation came from the Gosteli archive. They returned to us in the form of a multimedia picture show. Put on your 3D glasses, take a seat in the armchair and let yourself be whisked away!

Play corner

Researchers with children – this is for you! There is a play area in our information room where children can occupy themselves while you delve into the archive: toys, children's books, colouring pencils, an audio station on lesbian history for the older ones and the VR station on women's suffrage - it won't be boring. And for those who like to run around, we have a large garden.

Garden

Our garden invites you to pause and play. Have a drink with a view of the Alps, run across the lawn, play badminton or take a walk to the neighbouring paddock. A visit to the Gosteli Archive is worth it.
